  • Improbable Cup of Tea

Tea is essential for life as we know it to exist anywhere in the universe. Dried leaves, boiled.

Using the infinite improbability drive I'll send you something that's almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea.

(It is in fact, tea. A random selection of adventurous high-quality loose leaf. Enough for one pot, or three cups, sexy Hitchhiker's mug not included)

Includes download of the solo Chapman Stick piece 'Is there Any Tea on this Spaceship?'

about

"This must be Thursday. I never could get the hang of Thursdays"

Is there Any Tea on this Spaceship is my tribute to comedy sci-fi genius Douglas Adams. It's got elements of prog, jazz and of course metal.

The tracks swim from frantic heavy moments to fragile ambiences, including the delicate solo Chapman Stick titular interlude.

Reuniting with two old friends to record rhythm tracks:

Simon Douglas on drums (Sertraline)
www.wearesertraline.com

Dave Hanson on bass (From Her Ashes)
fromherashes.bandcamp.com

And featuring guest solos and performances from respected UK jazz and contemporary classical musicians.

I've tried to create something that rewards repeated listens with lots of layers and twists and a pinch of Douglas's surreal sense of humour.
